The lawsuit, filed on August 1, claims that Paul Perez is alleging negligence over the alleged attack. He is seeking damages for an injury he sustained when the dog bit his stomach, which was followed by pain, suffering, and emotional distress.
According to the complaint, the attack occurred in May 2022. In the lawsuit, Perez claims that one of the security guards at the main gates of Disneyland caused the dog to “abruptly step in front of and very close” to him, causing him to bump into the dog.
He was there with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren when the attack happened, according to a report by The O.C. Register. He was taken to the hospital by his daughter, while his wife and grandchildren continued in the park. He was discharged after receiving care and medications.
“Now, every time he goes out and sees a dog, he feels stressed,” said Ian Prancer, Perez’s attorney, in a conversation with KCAL News. “He’s afraid to leave the house, and it’s a very difficult set of circumstances to find oneself in.”
He is reportedly demanding a jury trial with damages to be “determined by proof at trial,” according to court documents. Disney has not yet commented on the matter.
